How to Install IPTV on a Firestick, Step by Step

To install IPTV on a Firestick you allow apps from unknown sources, use the Downloader app to sideload a player such as IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate, then sign in with the Xtream Codes details from your provider. The whole process takes about ten minutes and needs no computer.

What you need before you install IPTV on a Firestick

Three things, and it is worth having all of them in front of you before you touch the remote. Hunting for a password halfway through a sideload is how people give up.

  • Your Fire TV Stick, plugged in, connected to Wi-Fi and signed in to an Amazon account.
  • Your subscription details: the server URL, username and password. We send these by WhatsApp when your order is activated.
  • A connection that holds up. 15 Mbps is enough for one Full HD stream; 4K wants 25 Mbps or more, and it has to be steady rather than fast in bursts.

Step 1: allow apps from unknown sources

IPTV players are not in the Amazon Appstore, so the Firestick has to be told it may install software from elsewhere. This is a standard Fire OS setting, not a modification.

  1. From the home screen go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options.
  2. If Developer options is missing, open Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight your device name and press the select button seven times. The menu appears.
  3. Turn on Install unknown apps, then switch it on for Downloader specifically.

Step 2: install the Downloader app

Downloader is a free, Amazon-approved app that fetches an installer file from a web address. Search for Downloader in the Firestick search, install it, and open it once so it can ask for storage permission.

Step 3: install your player

Room IPTV Pro does not make a player and does not require a particular one. Any player that accepts an Xtream Codes login will work with the subscription. Two are worth knowing about.

IPTV Smarters ProFreeA first setup. Simple layout, Xtream Codes login, works out of the box.
TiviMateFree tier, paid upgradePeople who want a proper TV guide, favourites and recording.
Both are third-party apps, made and supported by their own developers.

Open Downloader, enter the address of the player you have chosen, and let it download. When the install prompt appears, choose Install, then Open. Delete the installer file when Downloader offers; it is no longer needed.

Step 4: sign in with your Xtream Codes details

Most players offer three login methods. Choose Xtream Codes API rather than M3U URL wherever it is offered: it pulls the channel list, the films, the series and the TV guide in one go, and it reconnects more reliably after a reboot.

  1. Select Login with Xtream Codes API.
  2. Give the playlist any name you like — this is only a label on your own device.
  3. Enter the username, the password and the server URL exactly as sent, with no spaces at either end.
  4. Select Add user and wait while the channel list loads. A first load of a large list can take a minute.

If something does not work

The login is rejected

Nine times out of ten this is a typing error: a capital letter, a trailing space, or http entered where https was sent. Re-type the three fields rather than correcting them.

Channels load but the picture stalls

That is a network symptom rather than a login problem. Our buffering fixes run through the checks in the order that resolves the most cases, starting with moving the stick to the 5 GHz band.

The TV guide is empty

Give it five minutes with the app open, then check that the device time zone is correct. The full walkthrough is on our TV guide page.

One subscription, one device

A Room IPTV Pro subscription covers a single device. If you install the player on a Firestick in the living room and want the bedroom television as well, the second device needs its own subscription. The price list shows what each term costs, and a free trial lets you check the picture on your own screen before you pay anything.
