What you need before you start
Four things. Having all four in front of you is the difference between a five-minute setup and a frustrating one.

Which login to use when the player asks
Most players offer two ways in. They are not equivalent, and picking the wrong one is the most common reason a setup looks half finished.

Should I sign in with Xtream Codes or an M3U link?
Xtream Codes wherever the player offers it. It brings the live channels, the films, the series and the programme guide in one go, and it reconnects cleanly after a reboot. An M3U link gives you the channels and nothing else.
Do I need to install anything on my router?
No. Nothing changes on the router and no ports are opened. The player connects out over your ordinary internet connection, the same way a browser does.
The channel list is empty after I sign in. What now?
Give it a minute on the first load, then check the three login details by re-typing rather than editing them. A trailing space after the password is the most common cause and it is invisible on a television keyboard.
The picture plays but keeps stopping.
That is a network symptom rather than a setup one. Wire the device in if you can, or move it to the 5 GHz band, and raise the player buffer. The buffering fixes page works through the checks in order.
The programme guide is blank or shows the wrong times.
Almost always the device time zone. Set it to your actual location, then force the guide to refresh. The TV guide page covers the rest.
Can I set up the same subscription on two devices?
No. A subscription covers one device and one stream. A second television, phone or box needs its own subscription; the price list shows what each term costs.
