Apps and logins
IPTV player apps, and the login we send you
An IPTV player is the app that turns a subscription into channels on screen. Room IPTV Pro does not make one: we send you a login, and you enter it into any player that accepts an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist. This page explains which of the two to use and what to look for in a player.
Xtream Codes login or M3U playlist
Your welcome email contains both. They reach the same channels, so the only question is which one your player asks for. Where a player offers the choice, the Xtream Codes login is the better of the two.
| What it affects | Xtream Codes login | M3U playlist |
|---|---|---|
| How fast the channel list loads | Fast, even with a long list | Slower, because the whole list is downloaded as one file |
| On demand browsing | Proper categories, artwork and search | A flat list, with no artwork |
| Catch-up on channels that offer it | Supported | Not supported |
| TV guide | Pulled live as you scroll | A static file that can go stale |
| Works with older or unusual players | Only where the player supports it | Almost anywhere |
| Use it when | Your player offers it, which most now do | Your player only accepts a playlist URL |
What to look for in an IPTV player
There are dozens of them and they are not equal. These four checks rule out most of the bad ones. We name a specific app for your device in your welcome email, so you do not have to guess.
It accepts an Xtream Codes login or an M3U URL
This is the only requirement that is not negotiable. A player that takes neither cannot use a Room IPTV Pro subscription at all.
It shows a TV guide
Without an EPG you get a channel list and no idea what is on. Every player worth using pulls the guide from the same login.
It lets you set the buffer
Ten to fifteen seconds of pre-load is the difference between a picture that rides over a dip in your connection and one that freezes.
It is still being updated
Abandoned players break when a device updates its operating system. Check the last update date before you install one.
Frequently asked questions
Does Room IPTV Pro have its own app?
No. Room IPTV Pro is a subscription service, not a player. You use any app that accepts an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist, which is almost every IPTV player in circulation. We name the one we recommend for your device in your welcome email.
Which login will I be sent?
Both, in the same email: a username, password and server address for players that take an Xtream Codes login, and an M3U URL for players that only accept a playlist. You only need to enter one of them, whichever your player asks for.
Can I use the same login on a second device?
No. A subscription covers one device, so the login belongs to that device. A second television, phone or box needs its own subscription rather than sharing yours.
The player says the login is wrong. What now?
Nine times out of ten the server address has been typed with a missing http:// or an extra slash, or the trial has expired. Copy and paste the three details straight from the email rather than retyping them, and if it still refuses, send us a screenshot.
Installing the player on your device is covered step by step on the setup guide. If the picture plays but keeps stopping, see fix buffering; if the schedule is blank, see the TV guide page.
